Daryna Skakun Interview

• Can you tell us a little about yourself? Can you share a unique or interesting aspect about yourself that people may not know?

I have been meditating and doing yoga since my sixteen and last but not least – i do write poems from time to time – because these are sort of things which help me to release negative feelings and emotions ecologically let’s say.

• Apart from modeling, what other passions or hobbies drive you?

The culture of making coffee ,
creating photography, especially subject one
dancing and singing ,
making youtube videos ,
psychology – discovering and listening about human’s psychological things

• If you had the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world for a photoshoot, where would you choose and why?

I guess – Copenhagen or somewhere else in Denmark. I mean , i am so in love with its culture and fashion industry there , and artistic senses at all , especially fashion one , as i have mentioned .

• How would you describe your personal style? Do you have any fashion icons or inspirations?

I do prefer monochrome colors and different textures in clothes. In general European slash Scandinavian style , i could say , and like girls from Stockholm , Copenhagen and London are my sort of icons right now.
If to talk about actual people – Matilda Djerf ,
Marie von Behrens-Felipe , and especially
Moya Mawhinney. And also i do inspired by men in fashion with similar ideas in style.

• Are there any specific fashion trends or styles that you enjoy experimenting with or incorporating into your own look?

Swedish style with leather items and really good thrifted clothes , Danish as well , and Parisian one with dark colors and oversized coats , trench coats and gorge details.
Right now i am so obsessed with Maison Margiela shoes and miumiu trends.

• What is your greatest weakness and how have you tried to overcome it?

Not ideal body with minimal scars, burns and one deformed nail on the right hand. I’m trying my best to work with such thoughts in my mind through affirmations and reflecting. Because it’s unique and beautiful anyways.

• What are your strengths?

I am mentally strong and i am flexible personally.
I do quickly learn new skills if i am really interested in something. I do communicate fluently and easily with everyone. I do love sport , different types , and incorporate it into my daily routine easily. I do meditate and take care about my mental health daily. Self-discipline when it’s needed.

• What are you passionate about?

Tea and coffee culture ,
Foreign cultures in general , gastro industry ,
psychology and spiritual studies ,
authentic photography ,
Parisian architecture and similar one in other countries ,
traveling and discovering ,

• What aspect of the modeling industry are you most passionate about?

Fashion shows and whole fashion weeks because of lots of different unique brands , artists , mixed personalities and experiences.

• Could you share your career goals and aspirations for the next five years,
  both within and beyond the modeling industry?

6. Starting an own brand of clothes
7. Collaborations with ukrainian and foreign brands / artists
8. Work together with Jacquemus and miu miu
9. Creative photo shootings with lots of people and different designers
10. Owned Coffee shop slash Bakery

• What inspired you to pursue a career in modeling? Was there a specific moment or experience that influenced your decision?

I guess foreign pinterest has become like specific moment that influenced my decision.

• Who is your favorite model and why? How has their work influenced your own modeling journey?

I would not like to single out just one person because I respect and admire all the models I was inspired by once , I am inspired now and will be inspired in the nearest future , but here’s the current ones : @endlesyloveclub @moyamawhiney @sofiazakharchukk @iamvikasavechko @josefinehj

• Do you have a favorite fashion designer or brand that resonates with your personal style or aesthetic? What draws you to their designs and
  philosophy?
