Maria Giulia Zini Interview
- Can you tell us a little about yourself? Can you share a unique or interesting aspect about
yourself that people may not know?
I am the youngest in my family, with two older brothers. Maybe that’s where I developed my love
for strong friendships and the importance of companionship—I don’t like being alone too much.
We’ve always had pets, and I have a deep love for animals.
I’ve always been very shy, but I’ve worked hard to overcome it—acting has helped me a lot in that
regard.
I’m very sensitive, which might make me seem moody at times. The truth is, I feel things
deeply—when something good happens, I’m extremely happy, and when something bad happens,
I feel it intensely. Maybe I’m a little extreme in that way, but that’s just who I am.
- Apart from modeling, what other passions or hobbies drive you?
I’m an actress, so I love acting, movies, theater, and storytelling.
If you could travel anywhere in the world for a photoshoot, where would you choose and
why?
I’d choose the Salar de Uyuni, the vast salt desert in Bolivia. It’s an incredibly surreal and magical
place, especially after it rains—the sky reflects on the water, making it look like there’s no
distinction between the ground and the sky.
- How would you describe your personal style? Do you have any fashion icons or
inspirations?
I’d say my style is tomboyish. I love baggy clothes, a bit of a "rave" aesthetic—big boots, low-rise
baggy jeans, and oversized sweatshirts.
- Are there any specific fashion trends or styles you enjoy experimenting with or
incorporating into your look?
I love layering and prioritizing comfort in my outfits. As for trends, I like to follow them loosely but
always adapt them to my personal style.
- What is your greatest weakness, and how have you tried to overcome it?
I struggle with handling emotional pain. I’m working on it through therapy and by focusing on
building my self-esteem.
- What are your strengths?
I’m highly empathetic and sensitive, and I tend to listen more than I talk.
- What are you passionate about?
Acting is my biggest passion. I love working on a project, developing an idea, and collaborating
with others to bring something to life.
- What aspect of the modeling industry excites you the most?
I love the storytelling aspect—becoming a part of a brand and embodying its values. Traveling is
another exciting part of the job.
- Could you share your career goals and aspirations for the next five years, both within and beyond the modeling industry?
In modeling, I’d love to collaborate with emerging brands that challenge traditional fashion
concepts. Outside of modeling, my biggest goal is to fully support myself through acting.
- What inspired you to pursue a career in modeling? Was there a specific moment or
experience that influenced your decision?
My parents, mostly—they’re fashion designers, so I grew up surrounded by fashion. That naturally
sparked my interest in the industry.
- Who is your favorite model and why? How has their work influenced your own modeling
journey?
Bianca Balti. She struggled a lot when she was younger, especially with addiction, and now she’s
battling illness—but she still manages to smile and see the bright side of life. That resilience really
inspires me.
- Do you have a favorite fashion designer or brand that resonates with your personal style or aesthetic? What draws you to their designs and philosophy?
I appreciate brands that take environmental concerns and ethical labor practices seriously. I
admire Stella McCartney for her commitment to sustainability, even before it became a widespread
movement. Aside from that, I enjoy experimenting with different styles depending on the occasion,
so I don’t have just one favorite—I like many brands for different reasons.
