Araceli Morand Interview

  • Can you tell us a little about yourself? Can you share a unique or
interesting aspect about yourself that people may not know?

I’m a passionate and dedicated individual with a background in Product Design and Engineering. One interesting aspect about me is that I’m from a sunny Island, I love summer and the sea, but I also find something magical and cozy in cold weather that drove me to Salzburg, Austria! I’m also very adventurous, last year I did a Dakar in the Moroccan desert!

  • Apart from modelling, what other passions or hobbies drive you?

I really enjoy sport and arts. And whenever I can I combine both. I like to go skiing, snowboarding, skating, to play tennis, but I also like to dance, do aerial (silks), or to visit museums.

  • If you had the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world for a
photoshoot, where would you choose and why?

I would love to go to an arid and remote area, such as the desert or glaciar, to do a photoshoot where the contrast between model and context is very dramatic.

  • How would you describe your personal style? Do you have any fashion
    icons or inspirations?

I always like to think that I am classy, clean and aesthetic, but I’ve made also different kinds of shootings so I am very adaptativo to the thematic.

  •  Are there any specific fashion trends or styles that you enjoy
experimenting with or incorporating into your own look?

I really like the trends that are coming in this 2024, I think we have evolved in the right direction with fashion! Whether it’s incorporating bold colors, unique accessories, or trying out avant-garde styles, I believe in embracing the ever-evolving nature of fashion.

  • What is your greatest weakness and how have you tried to overcome it?

One of my weaknesses has been being shy or embarrassed to appear in pictures. To overcome this, I’ve focused on putting myself more often in those situations, and seeing that I like the result, has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.

  • What are your strengths?

My strengths lie in being very adaptable and multifaceted. I’m dedicated to continuously improving and learning, ensuring that I bring my best self to every project.

  • What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about design, adventure, learning new things and having new experiences. I believe that getting yourself out of your confort zone makes you a more understanding and open person.

  • What aspect of the modelling industry are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about expressing creativity, promoting body positivity and realness. Using modelling as a form of artistic expression and advocating for positive changes within the industry drives my passion.

  • Could you share your career goals and aspirations for the next five years,
both within and beyond the modelling industry?

In the next five years, beyond modelling, I aspire to work with bigger brands in product design, relaying on my creativity.

  • What inspired you to pursue a career in modelling? Was there a specific
moment or experience that influenced your decision?

The inspiration to pursue a career in modelling came from helping friends to promote their personal brands. There wasn’t a singular moment, but rather a culmination of experiences and a deep-seated passion for the art of fashion.

  • Who is your favorite model and why? How has their work influenced your
    own modelling journey?

My favourite model is Angelina Frerk, because she shows herself in her most real way, she doesn’t pretend. Their work has influenced my journey by believing that it is possible to live a simple life by being a model, not having the pressure to be perfect at all times.

  • Do you have a favourite fashion designer or brand that resonates with your
personal style or aesthetic? What draws you to their designs and
    philosophy?

Balenciaga resonates with my personal style because of their commitment with innovative designs, as well as sustainability and quality.I am drawn to their philosophy of authenticity and identity, as well as their principle of customer centricity, aligning with my own values and aesthetic preferences.
